National Strategy to Achieve Gender Equality Consultation Submission
National Strategy to Achieve Gender Equality Consultation Submission
On the 8th of March, the Office for Women opened the second round of consultations for The National Strategy to Achieve Gender Equality. They stated that its purpose was to “guide whole-of-community action to make Australia one of the best countries in the world for a gender-equal society.”
The discussion paper set out several questions. Good Shepherd responded to the question “What are your priorities for achieving gender equality in Australia?”
Our submission used economic security and climate action as two key pillars that are central to gender equality and are connected to many other issues. The issues that were discussed were family violence prevention, response and recovery, housing, employment, and social security.
