After escaping family violence, Tracy was left facing an uncertain financial future. But she was determined to get back on her feet. Thanks to your donations, Tracy (and other women like her) are able to access life-changing services from Good Shepherd”.
160 years of impact
The history of Good Shepherd in Australia goes back to 1863, when Sister Mary Euphrasia Pelletier sent Good Shepherd Sisters to Melbourne to support women and children experiencing vulnerability. Today, Good Shepherd is the largest and longest-running organisation supporting women and girls, with a presence in 73 countries. With your support, we’ve done so much, but there’s so much more to do.
Your contribution has already sparked change, and we invite you to continue this journey with us. Let’s build a brighter future for women, girls and their families together. Your generous donation will help more women rebuild, move forward and live fulfilling lives.
When you donate to Good Shepherd, you are partnering with us to support women, girls and their families. We’re so grateful.

Did you know?
• 1 in 4 women in Australia have experienced violence by an intimate partner or family member (27%)
• 1 in 6 women experienced childhood abuse (18%)
• 16% of women (1.6 million) have experienced financial abuse perpetrated by a partner
• The rate of homelessness for women increased 10.1% in 2021 while the rate for men declined
• Women aged 12-24 and aged 55+ were the two groups seeing the fastest increases
These women are not just statistics. They are sisters, daughters, mothers, friends… and even one person living with the impacts of violence, poverty and instability is too many.
That’s why we’re asking you to go even further this end of financial year. Supporting Good Shepherd means you are a partner in change – creating a future where all women and girls can be safe, well, strong and connected.
