The Power to Persuade is a partnership between Good Shepherd's WRAP Centre and Gemma Carey of Menzies Centre (Australia National University). The Power to Persuade hosts an annual symposium, bringing together participants from community, academic, government and corporate policy bodies to discuss the policy-making process, picking up on contemporary themes and challenges. Continuing the conversation with a wider audience throughout the year, a panel of moderators run the the Power to Persuade public policy blog and Twitter account.

The annual Power to Persuade symposium provides an opportunity for open dialogue between public servants, academics and the community sector. With a diverse range of speakers and perspectives, it offers an opportunity to share knowledge across sectors and explore more effective ways of working with each other.
The 2016 Symposium was held in Melbourne at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons on the 15th of August. The theme for the day was The Ecological Systems of Public Policy: Keeping them open, healthy and sustainable through strategic, multi-level collaboration.
