The Team Leader, Family Violence leads a team of specialist family violence practitioners to deliver high quality service to women and children who have experienced or are experiencing family violence.
This role sits within a leadership team providing extensive knowledge and expertise to all of Good Shepherd’s family violence programs, including the Bayside Peninsula Support and Safety Hub (Orange Door), family violence case management, family violence response in prison, women’s and children’s counselling, high security refuge including support of clients living within the community, residing in refuge, motel or transitional housing accommodation.
This role will see the Team Leader’s experience and understanding of people leadership, quality, innovation and service improvement employed to ensure the delivery of evidence informed services with measurable client outcomes. The Team Leader is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations, supervision and reporting in line with service agreements and organizational expectation and will assist to develop and lead a highly competent, engaged and professional team.
*This role is shared with another team leader also doing 0.5FTE. First week: 3 days, Second Week: 2 days.

Responsibilities
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team of family violence practitioners recognising individual strengths, needs and areas for development
- Develop and lead a highly competent, engaged, and professional team
- Ensure the delivery of effective, high-quality services and outcomes to clients through a range of interventions from crisis/brief to longer case management period
- Respond to and develop strategies to mitigate risk for clients
- Develop and implement systems to ensure timely and accurate data collection and reporting
- Work effectively with partner organisations, internal and external stakeholders
- Provide high quality, strength based, reflective supervision to staff through individual and group responses
- Assist in the day-to-day operations and reporting in line with service agreements and organisational expectations
Qualifications and Experience
- Formal qualifications in in Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline to degree level is essential in accordance with REC 209
- Experience with working with high-risk victim survivors of family violence
- Experience working with diverse groups and cultures
- Experience working in a leadership role within the family violence, family services, child protection or related context
- Experience leading a dynamic team through a process of change management.
