In our work to increase economic participation and wellbeing, Good Shepherd works with a diverse range of community organisations across Australia to increase the reach and impact of its No Interest Loans (NILS) and associated microfinance and microenterprise programs. The NILS program provides individuals and families on low incomes with access to safe, fair and affordable credit, up to $1,500 for essential goods and services such as fridges, washing machines, car repairs and medical procedures. In South Australia and Northern Territory, we currently partner with 24 community organisations (who work directly with NILS clients), in over 50 sites. The predominant mode of delivery of NILS in this network is face-to-face service, undertaken by a combination of paid and volunteer partner staff.

This role sits within the Financial Inclusion and Access portfolio and reports to the State Manager SA/NT. The role will work with the State Manager and Microfinance team to identify community, health, education and other sectors, and geographic regions, to promote and expand the delivery of microfinance programs.

The role will contribute to the relationship management and performance of the existing network and actively seek new partners to expand the reach of microfinance services and increase target client engagement with microfinance programs with the overarching aim to achieve state and national strategic plan priorities.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Conduct sector analyses of the community, health, education and other sectors and complete regional areas mapping demand exercises to identify potential partners, stakeholders and geographic regions to target, aiming for optimal reach to our target clients
  • Identify, connect, recruit, engage and retain new providers and partners into the network to increase the engagement of target clients with NILS and associated programs
  • Undertake partner reviews and support the development of work plans to expand the reach of microfinance services.
  • Ensure partners are operating with a best practice lens by ensuring they are equipped to promote and/or provide NILS and associated programs, through training and marketing resources, with the aim of achieving service agreement targets
  • Coordinate responses for operational enquiries from the partner network, including client, policy and procedure queries
  • Support and contribute to evaluation activities for the network, including data analysis and the use of performance tools
  • In conjunction with the State Manager and SA team, gather, collate and synthesise information for the development of reporting for government, management and the partner network

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Formal qualifications in Community/Business/Stakeholder Development, Social Science or equivalent is required. Consideration will be given for equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with key stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes in community/business development and the delivery of services
  • Ability to conduct performance reviews with the network and support the development of work plans that aim to achieve or surpass targets and will include training, marketing and promotion activities
  • Experience analysing information and data and using this to develop strategies and plans
  • Ability to monitor and report on project and funding milestones and deadlines
  • High-level written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate and liaise effectively and sensitively with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check, (International Police Check if resided overseas for 12 months or longer in last 10 years) and obtain a SA Employee Working with Children Check prior to commencing
