Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand has launched a new early intervention pilot program “RISE” to support young people (aged 12-18) remain engaged in education.
RISE (Resilience, Independence, Support and Engagement) will see Good Shepherd partner with local schools to provide in-school programs and individual case management for young people at risk of disengaging from education.
Young people showing early signs of disengagement from school may be eligible for individual case management as part of the program. For example, young people who have begun to display irregular attendance or signs of social isolation.
Good Shepherd’s Sydney Counselling Team will work closely with the RISE program to support young people address issues impacting their education or wellbeing through individual counselling and programs aimed at strengthening adolescent-parent relationships.
Due to funding requirements, RISE will work with schools in the City of Sydney, Inner West local government areas, as well as Canterbury, Strathfield, Burwood and Canada Bay.
